A Journey Through Love, Music, and Self-Discovery

Biography

I’m a Danish jazz singer and songwriter. Music has always been my way of navigating the world and expressing myself. Growing up in a home where my father struggled with alcoholism, I learned to understand the pain of others. Music became my sanctuary, offering me a space to express what words couldn’t. Jazz, with its depth and freedom, has always been my means of connecting with my own heart and others.

Billie Holiday’s music and story have had a profound impact on me. Watching Lady Sings the Blues as a child, I was struck not only by her voice but by the raw honesty with which she expressed her life’s struggles. Her vulnerability and truth sparked my own journey into jazz and inspired me to find my own voice.

Ikigai: Music as My Purpose

Ikigai, a Japanese concept meaning “the reason for being,” defines my purpose in life. For me, music is my ikigai. It gives my life meaning, freedom, and a way to share hope with others. On stage, I aim to create a space where the audience feels connected—not only to the music but also to one another, through the shared experience of life.

With Born to Love, I hope to remind everyone that love is the most powerful force we have. Whether it’s love for ourselves, for others, or for the world, love is what allows us to heal and grow.

Songwriting: A Lifelong Process and a Shared Journey

Writing songs has always been my way of processing emotions and understanding the world around me. It’s how I navigate life’s highs and lows—by turning feelings into music. Songwriting is not just something I do; it’s something I need to do.

I have more songs on the way for a new album, and I’m so excited about what’s coming. Creating music is even more meaningful when I get to share the process with wonderful musician friends. Collaborating, sharing ideas, and building songs together brings a special kind of magic. It reminds me that music is connection—not just with listeners, but with the people I create it with.

Born To Love: A Reflection of Love, Healing, and Growth
“Born To Love” is my debut album and scattered throughout the album are three original songs, each carrying a personal story of love, healing, and growth.”

  • Feathers is about self-love and the quiet reassurance that we’re never truly alone. Even in dark times, small signs can remind us we are loved and protected.
  • Are You in Heaven is about forgiveness—especially learning to forgive my father—and finding peace by letting go of the past.
  • Love to the World is a celebration of love’s healing power. It’s about choosing love, again and again, and sharing it with those around us.

The other songs on the album, though not written by me, were carefully chosen because they echo the themes I wanted to share. They speak to the complexity of love—love lost, love unspoken, love that lingers. Each one adds a layer to the story of Born To Love, and together they express what I truly believe: love connects us, heals us, and sometimes challenges us to grow.

Born To Love: An Invitation to Connect

Born To Love is not just an album; it’s an invitation to connect—to connect with the music, the emotions, and the stories behind each song. The album was made in collaboration with four incredibly talented musicians: Magnus Hjorth, Jesper Løvdal, Thomas Fonnesbæk, and Rasmus Kihlberg. Over three days of recording and meeting, we shared not only our musical skills but also warmth and understanding, creating something truly special together.

“Just give a little love to the world.”
